Firstborn Creatives took part in a year long residency with two schools in Bristol - Oldbury Court and Hillfields Primary - exploring the use of creative media approaches to support and enhance the national curriculum. This residency aimed not only to engage the children in using creative digital technologies, but also the teachers, parents, learning mentors and other school staff. Over the year the aim was to work creativily with the school community using a wide range of media, including video, animation, digital photogtraphy, sound and music, to explore the themes of storytelling (literacy), citizenship, science and communication.

Three other media groups taking park in this residency project, funded by Creative Partnerships, working with different schools in the city; Calling the Shots worked with Teyfant Primary, Suited and Booted with Air Balloon Infant and Primary School, and Knowle West Media Centre with Illminster Primary, Hengrove Arts College and Hartcliffe Enginereeing College.
